Sometimes men just need to be told what to do. If it's not explcitly part of their job, or their job responsibilities, they may not know any better. Men tend to be messy and they may not see the things that a typical woman sees.
Men may not prioritize taking the tape or paper off the floor as important and instead focus on their current task at hand.
