I was inspired by whatever happened to be given to me.
My mom was a huge help and is responsible for almost every piece of furniture we have. Since my hubby and I were so young when we got married, we didn't want to start out on the wrong foot by getting in debt and buying everything that we wanted. If it's really important to us, we will get is someday when we can afford it without debt. That's my philosophy.
Anyway, we've made do with what we have and I think it looks pretty nice.
We will add more and more of our own personal touch as our financial situation allows, but I refuse to go into debt just to look pretty. But when we do buy all of our own new stuff, nature will definitely be a big inspiration to me. I love the earthy but sophisticated look.
