1/4 cup all purpose flour

in medium bowl combine flour basil oregano thyme salt and black pepper. Coat veal shanks with flour mixture . Put in crock pot. Add tomatoes with their liquid and the wine or broth to the remaining flour mixture and stir until smooth. Pour tomato flour mixture over veal. Arrrange celery, carrots, and onion around the veal.Cover and cook on low for 8 hours and serve over noodles!!! Your hubby will LOVE it and so will you!!!Enjoy!!!

You are going to think I'm totally bizarre, but here goes....did you know that "veal" is a baby cow? I was working in a factory once and bought a veal sandwich from one of the machines. We were sitting at a table talking about the machine food wasn't that bad at all. I couldn't remember what veal was and then I remembered seeing a documentary where all these baby cows where lined up in these pens and getting ready for slaughter. I instantly threw up....I was so embarassed!!!!
