It doesn't sound like swimmer's ear to me. Usually swimmer's ear is caused by getting water in the ear, by swimming or bathing. How we usually decide if that's what we have is by pulling straight down on the ear lobe. If it hurts to tug then it's swimmer's ear. If not then it's another kind of infection. Usually swimmer's ear is treated with just ear drops and, I know that for us, the pain is much better after one dose but you have to continue using the meds for several more days to get rid of it. I've never heard of someone getting swimmer's ear from a sinus infection, it sounds like something much more serious. The doctor can't see her until Wednesday? I would call another doctor or call this one back and let them know how much pain that she is in. Don't let them talk you into any other day but today!!!!
