Janet, I'd suggest that you dump Webroot. I had that installed and it really slowed things down and I was getting the same memory message. I dumped Webroot and got a version of Norton that included spyware protection. I'm currently running Norton 360, and it's working well so far.

You also need to see what is running in your startup folder. What icons are showing on the lower right near the time display. The only thing that should really be running there is your virus protection. At least keep the number of programs to a minimum.

Deleting cookies and temporary internet files often is also a must.
