Personally, I just do not know if we can stand 4 more years of what we've had. We are spending too much money and too many lives on this war that IMO and Obama's we should never have started. We need to fight terrorism, no doubt, just don't think we are fighting on the right front in the right country.

There are too many big businessmen and Saud's influencing our country's agenda. The Saud's are not our friends. Most of the 911 attackers were from Saudia Arabia as is Osama ben Laden. We need to wake up and end our dependance of foreign oil as soon as possible. We need to bring jobs back to America. We need change, and I think that Obama is offering the right change for these particular topics.

I do not agree with everything that he says, but I believe out of our choices, he is the best one. He's young and it would have been better for him to run a little later with more experience, but the times dictated that the time for him is now rather than later. So, we'll see. At least he brings a little youthful enthusiasm and optimism to the picture.

Marilyn i agree with you about the current situation, and definitely about the candidates... we don't know who's best, that's true...
but as a jewish woman, it worries me that his pastor had such horrible things to say about israel and let's not forget the US... while Obama may or may not share those views it definitely says something for either his views or his judgment that he stayed at a church which preached such hatred about our country for 20 YEARS! i highly doubt rev. wright developed his views solely for the campaign... they weren't developed overnight, and that scares me about Obama...

i've been through the charismatic speakers that talk about change and whatnot... and it turned out badly, that's why i'm so weary about voting for him... not to compare him with anyone else, because as you said, we just don't know, and i truly hope that if he wins, the things turn out for the better...
[ETA: I moved almost 8 years ago here, from Venezuela, before it turned out the way that it did...not to say that he is like Chavez at all...but words are just words and i haven't heard anything other than a catchy slogan... (please feel free to refute that... let me know what he stands for better, etc) ]

I don't think that any candidate has captured my attention or my vote... i was hoping for hillary... but, sadly she didn't win... i'm really confused as who to vote for, we definitely need change... but i don't know who'll be able to deliver...
