We make these when we go camping! We double wrap them in foil and bury them in hot coals for about an hour. Yummmmmm!!!
My Mom does something similiar in the oven with smoked sausage. She slices it into small pieces about 1 inch thick then adds broccoli, cauliflower, onions, carrots, potatoes, with salt and pepper and a little bit of water. She wraps it in foil in a large pan and bakes it until it's done (it's takes quite a while). Then she opens it up and serves it from the pan with a salad. It's really good and it feeds quite a few.
