Let me tell you how some things went while we were there.......

Dae Lynn and I were getting really close to the hotel so I called Angie to tell her that we were just about there. We get there and walk to the service desk to check in (I had given them Angie's name so she could go on into the room when she got there.). I told the girl that I had a reservation for that night and she looked it up and couldn't find it. I told her that I had my confirmation number and paper with me. Soon she announced that she'd found it and gave us our key so we went up to our room only to find that Angie wasn't there. We figured that she was either looking around or down by the pool so we waited for her to show up. After a while I gave her another call and Angie said that she was in the room waiting for us so we asked what room she was in. It obviously was a different room than ours so I had to go down and straighten things out. I think that when Angie checked in they changed the name of the reservation to her name and that's also why we didn't get the gift basket. The other employees couldn't figure out what room it went to because it had my name on it!!

The first morning we woke up I looked out the window and saw the sun........in the west!!! I thought that it had to have been reflecting off of a window but, no.....the sun came up in the west!! What I'm trying to say is that my sense of direction got completely turned around......north was south, east was west, and visa versa. I did manage to keep up and down straight!!!! Thank goodness that Dae Lynn's car had the directional thingy that tells you what direction we were going or we would have come home through Canada!!! She was as bad as I was but she kept trying to figure it out. That's why we got lost so many times!!! Even the morning that we left to come home we pulled up to a stop sign and she said "Don't tell me. I know where I'm going." Then she turned the wrong direction! She wasn't happy when I told her she was going north instead of south!!!!

Then we got into morning rush hour!!! We're from small town USA, and rush hour here means that you may have to wait for 5 cars before you can pull out on our 4 lane street! We were bumper to bumper for MILES!!! I tried to get her to pull off onto another highway but we had done that the day before (when we got lost) and the highway took us through several small suburbs with stop lights at every other block!! We ended up where we wanted to go.......we just took the scenic suburban tour!! Dae Lynn didn't think that it was funny! Matter of fact.....we got lost on the scenic route too!!!

We even got lost when we took Angie to the airport!!! I know that Angie was wondering if we would get her there on time. We did.......but we were 5 minutes late. Not too bad considering we got lost and ran out of change for the toll booth. We just went on through and I paid it on-line. I swear that I paid over $20 just for tolls that weekend!!! It didn't help that we got lost and went through some that we really didn't need to!!!! Oh well!!! Next time I go to Chicago I'm going to break open a piggy bank so I have toll fares!!! We finally figured out that the toll booths that had people in them we could ask for change for the next booth that didn't have a person!!! Smart thinking!!!!! Oh, and I forgot to add that we got lost getting back to the hotel after taking Angie to the airport!!! I just laughed and, well..........Dae Lynn didn't.

On Sunday, after taking Angie to the airport at 5:00 am. we went back to the hotel and went back to bed. We got up and just took our time getting breakfast and getting ready. Then we decided that we wanted to go to the Aquarium which was back in the same general area that the park was in. Guess what..........we got lost again!!! Dae Lynn REALLY wasn't happy and threatened to make me drive!!! I told her OK but that she had to read the road map! We decided to stay the way we were!!!! (She's got some road rage in her which is hard to believe because she's generally pretty easy going! So if you see her driving down the road......give her a wide berth!!!!!) We finally made it to the general area then we had to figure out where to park! Chicago was having their Susan G. Komen's Cancer Walk and we got to see the women doing their walk.

Shedd's Aquarium was really cool and I have some pictures of it to share. Lots of people were there and so many different languages! I hardly heard any english when I was around people, even up in the Sears Tower! There is just so much to do in Chicago and I'd like to go back and see some museums one of these days! Wish that all of you could have been there!!!
