I'm so sorry!
There is a great book, called Treat Your Own Back (or something close to that) using the Mackezie technique. It literally shows you various exercises to do for various back problems. My physical therapist used it when I was going for lower back pain. It helped me a lot and I loaned it to a friend who never even went to the doctor, but was able to use the exercises with a back problem.
