Silver is my drug of choice
I have lots of silver. I wear lots of turquoise and most of it is set in silver - that probably influences my preference. However, my hair is silver so silver jewelry on my neck or in my ears, compliments my hair and visa versa.
I have some gold jewelry but don't wear it very often, although I do some. I don't usually mix gold and silver, I don't like it on me - but I see others who do mix and I think it looks fine.
I wear lots of gemstone jewelry - in addition to turquoise - such as carnelian, lapis, and others. Most semiprecious stones like that are also set in sterling.
