My husband was VERY upset with us, because he too, like the same holiday food. BUT we just decided that this year he could suck it up and be happy
(he wasn't though - but his sweet sisters cooked him a Christmas dinner when we went to Oklahoma). He loved the new recipe for sweet potatoes and he loved the corn casserole. He didn't eat any of the cornflake cookies, due to his diabetes.
