Just wondering where everyone went for Thanksgiving dinner?

We use to go to my mom's but since her heart got worse, we all go over my sister's which is very nice she is a "Martha Stewart" when it comes to cooking, i just can't wait to relax some and have a nice quite dinner with my family..

We'll be staying home as usual. My Mom was talking about going to Oklahoma City to be with her husband's family but they've decided to stay home, which will be nice because Mom helps so much with the cooking, especially the pies!!

We've invited my son-in-law's aunt, uncle, and cousin to join us again this year. They were excited to be invited again. They were a lot of fun last year so we'll probably just keep them on our list for future years too. I think that we're going to invite a couple of other families. One has a couple of small children and the other is a couple that's retired but good friends of ours. The husband has been helping Glen with the farm work. And of course, the kids will be here. Feyn's family usually goes to Tammy's family for lunch and I think that Dae Lynn may be going to Damon's family for lunch too but they'll all show up sometime in the afternoon. I've had large groups here at the house before and with the basement for the kids to go down to and play we have enough room for everyone. We play games and have a pool table and ping pong table. It will be a fun day!

My hubby & I got to his folks for Thanksgiving. It's either at his mom's house or his uncles (usually his uncles) & then we do Christmas at my family. Once my g-pa is gone we will probably start switching, but for right now I want to be with my g-pa on christmas.

I'm going to my daughter's house. In fact, I promised the kids that I would sleep over so it will be really fun. I love cuddling up at night with them in bed.

My daughter is a great cook and does all the cooking. I'd like to help out, but she is the queen of her kitchen. Any ideas about how I can pitch in without getting in her way? I hate for her to work so hard and I do so little.

Will she let you bring things that you can fix at your home, so that you are not in her way, but you are contributing to the meal?

Can you do the shopping for her so all she has to do is cook? If she won't let you cook, maybe she'll let you chop up things she needs for cooking. Can you do some laundry or something like that to help her out? If I don't cook, I always clean up - but I bet you already do that. I also set the table, get all the chairs around, make sure all the condiments are out.

We will be going to my daughter's home. They used to come to our home, but the moved a couple of years ago and her house and kitchen (especially) is much larger than mine - so it is much more convenient.

I'll be cooking the dressing (crockpot) mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, and cranberry salad. My daughter is getting a smoked turkey (a gift certificate from her hubby's supplier). She'll be cooking the sweet potatoes, rolls and pumpkin and pecan pies. My mom will be making noodles. That is waaaaay toooo much food - but believe it or not, it is pared down from what we usually do.

We have Thanksgiving at our house. This will be the first year that Melissa will not be here. We encouraged her to spend the day with her new hubby's family. They celebrate his paternal grandmother's birthday on Thanksgiving afternoon, and her health is not the best. She has cancer, it's been in remission, but I've heard she isn't doing as well now and all she wants for her birthday is to have all her family there. Melissa and her hubby will be coming for the weekend and I've promised to have leftovers and pie for them.

Karen will be coming, and we have invited some friends who will not be celebrating with their families to join us this year. So it should be a nice day. We take the cooking very seriously and roast turkey with stuffing, mounds of mashed potatoes & giblet gravy, broccoli, corn, mashed spiced sweet potatoes with marshmello's and pecans, sour cream and lettuce for salad, cranberries. For desert, sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie and pecan pie. The cooking is always a joint effort between me, hubby and anyone else who happens to walk by the kitchen. We'll put everyone to work if we can. I'm taking the day off before to get the house and everything ready for the big day. This is Karen's favorite holiday.

We will be staying home. I've fixed the meal for the last several years for my husbands side of the family, but not sure if any are coming this year. If not...it will just be the three of us. My Mom always has it at her house, but we have never enjoyed it. Too crowded in her very small house and too much drama. I'm still fixing all the goodies though...we'll just have plenty of leftovers if no one shows up.

We go to Brads grandmoms house. She is old, sweet and stubborn... it makes her happy to have everyone gather at her place and since we aren't married or have any children of our own yet we obey. I suppose one day, I will cook my own dinner.

Now Christmas is tricky. I have at least 3 dinners on three different days to balance. And I also have a wedding dress to fit into so, this sucks. I will get a little spoon bites enough to taste everything, but definitely not going to gorge myself. Poor me right lol |

This year we are going to my MIL. She is a widow and so some of the kids will be going there for dinner and then my one SIL will come for leftovers. I'm actually

looking forward to it. I have no idea why. We will be stopping by to pick up my dad and he will go with us. Since my mom died 2 1/2 years ago my younger brother and his family hasn't even tried to get together with us for anything. But that's a whole other can of worms. Just to get away from home for once. Won't be able to see my oldest daughter and grandson they are going to Kentucky to be with my son in law's sister. But they will be up the following weekend after Thanksgiving and I can't wait to spoil my grandson. I miss him so much. Hope everyone has a safe and happy one.

We have dinner here, and all the kids and grandkids come over. They all bring something, and I make the main meal with their help. After dinner, we play board games and just have fun.

Yeah I got the job of cooking turkey, mash potatoes , string beans fixed the way they like them. Bringing dessert to..
