Then my Dtrs response to it when I forwarded it to her.

HE HAS NOT AT ANY TIME DURING THIS CAMPAIGN REVEALED WHAT HE STANDS FOR, WHAT HE BELIEVES IN, OTHER THAN HIMSELF, NOR WHAT HIS PLANS ARE TO EFFECT CHANGE WHICH HE TALKS ABOUT UNCEASINGLY.

I BELIEVE THAT WHEN MICHELLE OBAMA MADE HER INFAMOUS STATEMENT ON TUESDAY OF THIS WEEK THAT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I AM PROUD OF MY COUNTRY. SHE PROBABLY MADE THE MOST TRUTHFUL STATEMENT OF THE CAMPAIGN. SHE JUST FAILED TO NAME WHAT HER CO UNTRY IS. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HER COUNTRY AS WELL AS THAT OF HER HUSBAND IS NOT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA . HER PRIDE IN HER COUNTRY STEMS FROM HER BELIEF THAT THEY ARE ON THE VERGE OF TRANSFORMING THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD TO AN ISLAMIC NATION.

WE ALL WERE ASTOUNDED WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WHICH CAME INTO THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN COFFERS EARLY IN THIS YEAR, JUST WHEN IT WAS NEEDED. I BELIEVE THE SOURCE IS NOT VERY MYSTERIOUS; I BELIEVE THIS MONEY WAS DISTRIBUTED IN AMOUNTS WHICH WOULD NOT RAISE A FLAG TO A GREAT MANY POOR PEOPLE, DISHWASHERS, TAXI DRIVERS, WAITERS, ETC., TO BE DONATED TO THE CAMPAIGN, BY MIDDLE-EASTERN FORCES WHICH ARE VERY ANONYMOUS.

WE HAVE EIGHT MONTHS IN WHICH WE MUST BRING SOME OF THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE CANNOT ALLOW BARACK OBAMA TO BE ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THIS GREAT NATION.

Mom, did you actually read this? This is one of those scare tactics that they are using.
There ARE actually people out there that are paranoid about this kind of thing, but I bet the people who came up with this email are the same people that are TERRIFIED of actual change, they dont want to see a black president. *(They're probably the same kind of people that believe in that scientology crap)

Why dont you find Obama's speech from the other night on you tube, listen to it all the way thru, its about 20 min. You will hear about the change that he's talking about, its about changing the way we take care of ourselves, ie healthcare, college for ALL americans, etc. The change he's talking about is so beyond what any of these other politicians can even fathom that is scares the crap out of THEM ... and thats why this email is out there.

Ma, I BELIEVE in this guy (Obama) listen to the speech, it makes me feel like I imagine the people listening to Roosevelt felt when during the depression he said "You have nothing to fear but fear itself"....
and regardless who's elected there's NO WAY our country will EVER be turned into anything like an Islamic state. NO RELIGION will ever take over,as there are laws in place to prevent just that*The Amendments, Bill of Rights, etc) and believe me, if it came down to it, the American people would force people out of office *(President, Congress, whatever) before it even came close to being destroyed. and besides, ONE MAN even the President can't do anything like that on his own, there's Congress and the House, and there's US .... Citizens.
They did the same thing to Kennedy for being Catholic *(Dont you remember?? I mean, YOU were there!! haha)
and you know for a fact that those crazy militia people in the middle of no where would come out of the woodwork fighting!! haha.

I think you have a smart daughter.

She really hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately, fear tactics like this one are often quite successful in politics. I just hope that people will actually research rather than just believe stuff like this.

I'm with your daughter and Angie. Read Obama's book, for more information on what he believes. As said before, I don't agree with him on all points, but I do believe that he has the very best interests of this country and "We the People" in his heart. We need optimism in the White House. He does not plan a hasty withdrawal from Iraq as some have stated. He plans to get us out as quickly and wisely as possible. He wants to make affordable health insurance available to all people, not nationalized medicine. There is a huge difference.

We know, also, what is the thing with the flag? We have got William Ayers standing on a crumpled American flag. We've got Barack Obama running for president saying he doesn't want to wear a flag pin because that's displaying patriotism.

As for Obama clearly explaining what he is for well in my opinion he hasn't done that. He keeps screaming "change". I shouldn't have to go out and purchase a book to see what he stands for.

I've been on the 'puter' all morning researching various emails that I've seen and things I have heard and to be honest with all of you, a lot of lies are being spread about him.
Check out WWW.Snopes.com and enter his name and you'll see for yourself. I'm going to do more research, but I'm beginning to believe that he may be the best choice. JMO
I'm gonna pick up his book today.

I don't doubt that there are lies floating around about him. However, there is also a lot that is true and that can't be denied. Either way you have to vote for who you believe in. Safe to say I don't believe in him at all!

Ladies, I know we all have some important decisions to make, and open discussion is what this forum is all about. I think you all know that I have particularly strong views on some very controversial subjects, and enjoy discussing them. However, for the sake of harmony on 4WT, I for one am willing to suspend discussion of political topics until Christmas if need be. We have a really amazing group here, and want us all to remain close friends. I know, I've started some of the political threads, so if you wish to point this out, I'm guilty as charged. Is suspension of this topic one thing we can all agree on?? BTW, a kind PM by an awesome lady inspired this post. I can't take credit for this wonderful idea.

I also want to say that I think it is much better for us to handle this than having Admin put restrictions on our conversations as has occurred in other forums. I'm sure you will agree with this.

Seriously, thanks Marilyn. I think that's a great idea. I don't think anyone came on too strong, but I agree that we should probably suspend political discussions.
I put some references to articles on another thread. I also hope nobody got offended.

We all pretty much know who we are all voting for, and we still love each other.
That's one of the things I love best about being an American. We are blessed with
such freedom.

Michelle, I posted this once before, but my post is not showing up. Please don't stop posting. We enjoy interacting with you. Some of us are just concerned that we may get carried away and cause some hurt feelings. No feathers ruffled here either by the way. I enjoy a good political debate and have some strong views on some controvercial religious and political subjects, and given the opportunity, I will voice my views and try to convince you to agree with me.

We just want to keep things friendly on 4WT and take action before feelings do get hurt. We want to maintain our free speach on here and not have Admin step in and put restrictions on us as has occurred on other sites. We care very much about you and hope you will stay with us!!!
