It sounds like your neighbor is very nice. She is going out of her way to make friends with you.
The party sounds awful, but I agree with you that you should have gone. You might make some friends, acquaintances, or just know people to say hi to. Anyway, it sounds like your neighbor was appreciative! Hope your new $44 bra is comfy at least! I probably would have done the same thing. Now you know - no more clothing parties!
