The differences are not limited to fast food. Check out the entree pictures on any restaurant's menu's compared to what your dish looks like when it arrives. This was one of my FIL's big pet peeves. He would tell the waitress what he wanted and that he wanted it to look just like this one, pointing to the pic.
Honestly, though ladies, I've been avoiding fast food for so long (other than Subway and Jason's Deli) that even the actual pictures made me hungry as I sit here scraping the bottom of a Weight Watchers (1pt) yogurt cup. BTW, I've heard that the food in advertising pics is not always even food. It is stuff made to look like food, Elmer's glue instead of mayo and such, because it photographs better & looks more appealing.
