Great news!

Well, you know how I decided to stand up for myself and ask for a raise a few months ago and nothing ever came of it? We were getting our "rate adjustments" this week, which my supervisor said is usually just about 3%. Everyone was getting called into my boss's office to see how much we were each getting. When it was my turn, I walked in and he said to me "You were really the star this year, you came through and did a lot for the company and I'm very glad we have you here" and I said "Thank you!" and he wasn't making eye contact, so I was pretty sure I wasn't getting the 10% I asked for, and I was ready to leave and find a new job if I didn't get it. He continued, "Everyone is amazed at how much you've learned and how far you've come since you started here. And sooo... let's see here... you're getting a 20% raise, and a $4000 bonus. Will that be okay with you?" and he winked at me, and oh my gosh it was embarassing how shocked and happy I was! I swear I was beaming for the rest of the day... actually to be honest I still haven't stopped! No more worries about rent or bills, and I can pay off my credit card!
