We are in the deep freeze to (for us) - we've had temps around 30-32 with a fierce wind so the wind chills have been bad.
Of course, it is not nearly as bad as you guys up north, but it is bad for us because we rarely have this kind of weather and most people are just not prepared. In fact, my granddaughter has my down jacket - and my regular coat is unlined ![]() We will get a really hard freeze tonight, and we rarely get below freezing, so there will be lots of broken pipes, as people just are not used to or prepared for this kind of weather. I wrapped out ourdoor faucets, but I saw that my neighbors did not, so I wrapped them. I hope they don't mind.

lol I guess I grew up in the wrong country... we NEVER got out of school because of the weather! Every once in awhile if it was -40 or colder, the buses wouldn't start so the lucky farm kids didn't have to go to school, but a town kid like me still had to show up
![]() It's been pretty cold here too. Yesterday was -45 Celsius with the windchill, but today is only -32 with windchill... and next week is supposed to be above freezing! But I don't believe it, not until it happens! Stay warm everyone!

The kids are all out of school again today!! The temperature for today is 10* with wind chills of -15* to -20*!! I think that we're going to have all the grandkids over for a sleepover tonight!!! We've been wanting to do one since Christmas but just wasn't able to get one scheduled. Karlie's already here with her pj's and her sleeping bag!! She's already got it rolled out in the living room and she thinks that you're suppose to sleep outside with it!!! Grandpa's in for a COLD night if she persists!!! LOL

I think we have, for once, had easier weather than those south of here! It snows every day, but that is always the case up here. It is a beautiful, soft snow, and sometimes I see animal tracks going through. The snow stays white and sparkling, and it is such a winter wonderland up here! I sit in my living room and can see outside my patio doors, and just enjoy the beauty of it.
That's not to say it is easy living up here. Yesterday morning, I was going down the safe side of the hill I live on, and my car went right off the road! I was really scared, because you just don't know where and when your car will stop. I did scream! I stopped pretty close to the road. Thank goodness for studded tires, front wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a very stubborn nature! I got out and back onto the road, and went on to get my nails done, although I did give some thought to going back home. There are days I just don't bother going out, but not that often. We aren't having the winds you guys are. It's already January 9th. Hang in there. In 8 or 9 weeks, it will be March 9th, and much warmer.
