Lindsay! I can't believe you are all moved, that is just too cool for words. I'm so happy that Layla feels at home. You know, dogs know much more than we do about our environment. I think that is a very good sign!

I spoke too soon! Yesterday she had pooped in the living room! I wasn't too upset about it though, because she had used her pad to pee on all day

And so far she's doing WAY better than when we first moved into the condo!

I felt so bad for her leaving her there all day because we were quite late getting home last night (stopped at a hot tub store to ask about chemicals, stopped at the condo to load the car with more stuff, went grocery shopping) so she must have thought we were never coming back! But I found her vibrating with excitement at the top of the first set of stairs

I think she slept all day.

Maybe coming home to more than one?

We're considering maybe getting a second dog after we're more settled. It would be nice to have some company for Layla during the day, if we can find a dog that's suited well to her personality.

I fell in love with a little rescue dog I found on Petfinder. She's a yorkie mix and a special needs dog since she has had hip surgery. But she is very very submissive, which I think would be great for Layla since she gets upset when other dogs get right in her face and all she wants to do is hide behind me!

Isn't she adorable??? She is located quite far from me, but only about a half hour away from my best friend, who is now pregnant and also just bought a house

So we will be going to visit her and her husband in the next few months and if this little dog is still there I think we will also be going to see her!

Thanks! I hope so too! I will be sad if she's gone before we can see her, but at least she'd be in a good home which is better than a shelter. I don't know of any dogs with the surgery she had, but I did a little bit of research and it seems like she would be okay. I worry with all the stairs in our house!
