Oh what a cutie he is!!!! Rebecca, enjoy he's baby time, they grow up so fast. Mine is two years old already, but she thinks she's a little yorkie
If you take him out for regular walks and runs, he wont be that distructive. Ours has never touched anything that wasnt hers. We crate trained her from day one, and she loves her crate, she knows when we put on our shoes, she goes in her crate. She loves to swim, we take her to the woods, and the lake a few times a week, after her swim, she get's a shower (rinse) Her and my yorkies make a que in the bathroom in the morning for their faces to be washed, it's too cute.

Enjoy him, he's a little darling.

Thanks so much, Mandy! Can I ask you a question?? What age was she when you brought her home?

OMG, what a total CUTIE!!!! We also have a black lab, and he's the absolute best dog ever. He's so very well behaved... but then again, my step-dad spent a LOT of time training him. They're great dogs, as I'm sure you know since you grew up with them. Duke (our black lab) was also 10 weeks before we were allowed to bring him home.

CONGRATS!!!

No he will be 6 weeks. I am on a yorkietalk-type message board for labrador owners/lovers and they said 6 weeks is a little early...8 weeks is ideal...but I guess getting a 6 week old lab would be like getting an 8 week old yorkie...it's not ideal but definately not bad. And I was going to ask the breeder to keep him for a week or two longer but she is letting his whole litter go at 6 weeks so there would really be no point to me leaving him since if he stayed, he would need to be with his litter, you know?

Until we got our Yorkies, all our other dogs we've ever had, labs, golden retriever, were 6-8 weeks old when we brought them home. They all did great! Back then, I didn't know there was a perfect age to bring them, home...so for being a dummy at the time....they were good and healthy dogs.
