Examples:

"What do you want for dinner hon?" "I don't know."

"What should we do for your Mom's 60th birthday hon?" "I don't know."

"Which shoes look better honey - these black or the other black?" "I don't know."
(This is where the brighter ones will add on "They both look great sweetie."

"Where should we go on our vacation this year?" "I don't know." (They're lying here - they do know - but also know they won't even live through the answer, which is "Hang out watch TV. lots of sports, drink beer, eat chips and steak, and let's please not talk."

Who's that woman you're having sex with in our bed, honey? On my side, I might add!" " I don't know."
