Well, I'm so glad it worked out! Marty and Maddie are so lucky to have you and Brendon as parents.

Max and G.L. now sleep kind of snuggled together during the day. It really doesn't take long at all for them to bond. Marty will be so happy to have a friend.

How sweet!
She's a lucky dog to have found a place in your family.

Congrats to you all!

Thanks ladies! I'm looking forward to spoiling her as much as I possibly can. She's going to be a girly girl!

By the way, does anyone have advice for having two? Anything I should know or look out for? Anything to make them more comfortable with each other? Marty has never had a problem with another dog staying here. He just wants to play all the time when we are dog-sitting, so I'm not expecting any problems between them socially, but is there anything I might be forgetting or overlooking? How can I make Maddie feel more at home?

You probably don't really need to if he gets along with other dogs at your house, but if there is a slight change something could go wrong...I would introduce them at another outside location if possible and then bring them home together. We've done ours this way and have not had a problem.

Oh and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! YEAH!!!!

Marty's going with us to pick Maddie up in NJ. Megan and her family are really excited to meet him so that is already taken care of. Any other tips or advice?

Just take it one minute at a time. You have plenty of common sense, so you'll know how to deal with any problems from the heart.

For example, Max pooped on the couch exactly where I sit the first day Gracie Leigh was here. I didn't say a word - . just cleaned it up. But, when I saw him lift that little leg and mark the wall, I not only yelled, I gave his little butt a little smack. First time in his life he ever got hit! I haven't seen him mark again (or poop on the couch either).

Also, Gracie Leigh thinks everything belongs to her, so she takes whatever Max has and gets real sassy about it. He used to come to me and whine, but I wouldn't get it back for him. He has to fend for himself, but when I catch her being sassy, I do yell at her.

It's really a lot of fun raising two babies. Enjoy it!

Congrats on the new baby. Mom said that Maddie and Marty are getting along wonderfully. I'm glad. Did you find out if her full name is Madaline or something so the baby doesn't thing Auntie Angie has made her Uncle Matty into puppy Maddie?
