That should be an exciting event for everyone, definitly worth celebrating!!

Excellent advise Marilyn has given!! If she affects / manipulates the work which is expected of you speak directly to your superior and have him/her make note of it.

She doesn't sound as if she's worth you worring yourself over it all weekend, don't allow her to get the better of you. She will be gone soon and you have many more opportunites to make your career what you want out of it.
