Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you all get to go. Meeting the girls you've been talking to for so long should be wonderful. Janet, I hope you sell all your pups soon!
I know that Arkansas got that bad weather and so did we. We have a huge tree that is on the ground inside the fenced in area for our big dog. It must have scared the heck out of him! Later on today he was sleeping up in the limbs. He's not very aggressive. He could have jumped right over the fence to freedom. We have quite a few other large trees down but that was the closest to our house. It bent the gutter by the roof. I, of course, slept through the whole thing. I took a benadryl and turned on the noise machine. I think next time I should probably stay awake. I might live longer!!

I'm sure glad you're safe!!! I do the same thing though, I never get too worked up about storms. I just go ahead and go to sleep. Hubby worries about them for the both of us and I figure he'll wake me up if it gets too bad. When I'm here alone...I just go to sleep like usual and miss the storms.

I guess the only good thing about having a tree fall in your yard is if you have a fireplace or woodstove. Hope you can use it somehow. Your poor dog...I bet it did scare him...poor things. Glad he's alright too.

I posted in this thread a couple of days ago, and my post isn't here. Oh, well, just wanted to say that I won't be able to make it due to the wedding coming and so much going on. Hope you all have a wonderful time, and hope several of you get to be there. I checked and the air fair from here to Chicago isn't too bad, so if you do this again, I hope to be able to be there.

Let us know how it goes. Those who attend the first meetup can be charter members. You can have patches or T-shirts printed or something.

I wish you all could come too! I'm not 100% sure I'm going to be able to make it, but I'm 99.9% sure!!

Hi Janet,
Turns out that the winds were 70 miles an hour here. That's pretty high winds. I think I'm going to have to leave this house for a few hours. My husband and our friend are in the crawl space under the house trying to shore up this saggy house. It is not a nice job and the walls creak and pop and I am thinking of all the horrifying things that could be going on. The Yorkies bedroom door wouldn't close yesterday and still doesn't today. I worry about the windows breaking. We replaced everyone ourselves 2 years ago when we moved here and I don't want to spend money on them and I definitely don't want to put them back in if they break. My husband is 66 and his friend is 68 and just had bypass surgery about 5 months ago. It's not a fun job! I hope they finish by Fri.

That sounds like a lot of hard work. I hope they can get it done soon for you too. That would scare me to death to have the windows break.
