This has come up several times on the past few months. I too was ready to give them up till I read this:
http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/cfl.asp They're no worse than florescent bulbs that we've had around for many years. I've never heard of anyone getting sick from them. So I'll be keeping mine.
