No fall foliage here, I live in central Texas where our leaves die a brown death of old age in December
. One year though, I had a conference in Boston the first weekend in Oct. We rented a car and drove to Concord, Salem and on to New Hampshire. We visited Walden's Pond, and I have NEVER EVER in my life seen such beautiful foilage!! OMG! It was just spectacular. I have wanted to return ever since - but I'm a school teacher so going anywhere (except for the weekend) in Sept/Oct. is just not feasible.

Dobie,
Our leaves don't normally start changing till middle of September. But we've had a very dry summer and so some of the leaves are falling because it's so dry. But on a good year our leaves look beautiful. Red's, Oranges & yellows. Fall will be here before we know it.

A few of our trees look like they are strying to turn. I bet it is just gorgeous your way in the fall! I can't wait for it to get here. I love that time of year with all the colors! We have a train that will take you through the mountains in West Virginia.. You get to see the Eagles in the spring and the foliage in the fall so I hope the colors are bright this year!

Since I live in the same state as 2tiredmom (Linda) my answer is the same as hers...LOL. Everything is so dry. I get home from the bus route and my head starts aching. I drive so many gravel roads and all that dust is killing my sinuses.

We get a little bit of color but not anything much to brag about. Arkansas has some prettly foliage in the fall if you're ever there but I don't imagine that it's as pretty as it is in the northeast U.S. I'd love to drive through and see it! Pictures would be wonderful!!!

We've not changed colors yet, ususally in November, but when it does change, it's really beautiful and folks come from far to view the north Georgia mountains and to buy apples too.
