Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Janet!!! Looks like your guys will have quite a time, too!!!

I'll be cleaning and getting caught up with stuff around the house. I teach a bible class on Sunday mornings, so have to prepare for that. A friend gave me a sour dough starter that she's had going for 20 years, so I want to make some bread this weekend. It's supposed to be easier with starter than with yeast, so I want to experiment and see.

Our children will all be in Austin at Austin City Limits so I know we won't be hearing from them. Just hope they wear enough sun screen!!

Gayle, enjoy the craziness that is Austin this time of year. We will be headed to Round Rock on Tuesday to see a doctor from Scott White about hubby's ablation procedure. I'm hoping I can get him to stop at IKEA. They have an inexpensive little wooden box with storage drawers that make perfect soap molds. I've been wanting one so bad, and you can't buy it online, just at the stores for some reason.

Hope everyone has a really good weekend!!!!

Marilyn, hope you get to stop at IKEA - I like that store, unless I'm going in for only one specific item, then I hate to have to snake through the whole store to find it (I always miss the shortcuts!).

Hopefully, the doc from Scott & White will work out better for your husband. I completely understand. My husband has 9 doctors and he sees 5 of them every 3 months. It takes a while to find the one that "fits" with you and if there isn't a good "fit", it just isn't right.

Gayle, it sounds like you're going to have a nice weekend too. It seems like lately all I've done is run, run, run. Maybe after this weekend things will slow down.

Marilyn, I used to make bread from a starter and we loved it. It's just something that you have to take care of to keep it going. I used to make loaves of bread and cinnamon rolls. Yummmm.

Is that bread what some call "Friendship Bread"? Trying to remember - you put 1 cup each of sugar, flour, water or milk in a plastic seal bag, then do something on several days (adding, etc.). Then you separate it out, make your bread and pass a starter to your friends.

I've never heard of this bread. Sounds like most of us are going to have a nice weekend. Sure wish I didn't have this allergy, sinus head cold or whatever it is. Hard to breath through my nose...LOL.

Janet, I hope you get to feeling better and have a wonderful weekend. We're still trying to decide what to do this weekend.

Yes, that's it. The friendship bread is more like a coffe cake when you bake it but you can also make a regular loaf of bread and cinnamon rolls out of it too. Just typing about it is making me hungry!!!

I keep the recipe under a clear glass cutting board on my cabinet top, always visible. I think I'll go home and start a batch!
