So, here's a question for all you married ladies....is it true what they say, that the first year is the hardest? Or would you disagree? What are your secrets for a healthy relationship?

Definitely the hardest, but we didn't live together before getting married. In fact until we were married we were long distance & only saw each other on the weekends. We are both loners so living with someone was a system shock for both of us. At about 18 months we hit our stride & it's been pretty good sense.
My best advise is always take your spouses side when it is them against an outside person or thing. The two of you are a team & need to be a united front.

Oh, I DEFINATELY agree with this one. Hubby and I always talk about this, about how we are a team. Sometimes when we are in a silly mood, we'll say to each other, "We make a pretty good team!"

I don't think our first year was the hardest. Things went pretty well up until the 7th year. I think after awhile you have to re-adjust a little bit. Kind of like a new car, after so many miles or years, you have to have a little tune-up....

I do agree with that one. People change.

Our 14th anniversary is coming up in July. We will have been together for 15 years tho. I think that our first 5 years were the worst and hardest. He was working for a company that required him to travel ALL the time. We got married on a Saturday at the preachers house with his wife and My granny being there. That was it. He had to leave Monday morning to go out of town. It was non constant and it took a very serious toll on our marriage. He found a new job that allowed him to stay home. Things slowly started to get better. We had to now adjust to the fact that he was home all the time. I guess we did something right. We have made it this far! lol

We've been together for 8 years, married for less then a year. I always knew he was a wonderful man, but never realized how wonderful than over the past 6 months as we've been undergoing fertility treatments - he has been my rock throughout this emotional roller coaster.
