Oh that really is scary! I know you are so scared about what could have happened with the pups and kittens in the house, but you do have to leave them. You did everything you could have done to protect them. You might consider a surge protector at the breaker box that comes into the house or apartment. That makes double protection as it should stop any surges before they come into the house.

Oh, Angie, how scarey!!! So glad it wasn't worse!!
You can't always take your pets with you, and your were definitely being prudent with your surge protector. You should call the manufacturer and tell them what happened.

Thanks for the advice Gayle. I will definitely look into that.
Marilyn, we are calling the manufacturer tomorrow. They are only open M-F. Hopefully they will take care of the damaged equipment.

Oh, that's scary. I'm so glad that it didn't go ahead and start a fire. Did you happen to have storms in the area while you were gone? You might have been struck by lightening. It can do really weird things when it hits. I'm glad that the kittens and puppies are all alright.
