Hominy is actually corn. It's soaked and the outer covering is removed. It's very good and I have it quite a bit here at home. It comes in a can and will be in the same area that you find canned corn at the grocery store. It comes in white or yellow and they both taste the same. I usually buy some of both and use whatever color goes with my meal. I put it in a dish with a little bit of butter and salt and pepper and cook it in the microwave for a couple of minutes or so. You can also drain the water off and cook it in a skillet with a little bit of butter or bacon grease. Either way it tastes about the same. Try it and let me know what you think. I love Hominy too!! My mom was out for supper the other night and I fixed it and she was thrilled. She hadn't had it for years she said. I fix it the same way Diana except for cooking it in a skillet.

Aren't they also called grits? They're good! Pure starch - yummy.
