My front yard needs landscaping too. I'm going to quit planting flowers if we're going to have chickens and just buy some bushes for the front of the house. I just need to figure out how to pick out what will grow on that side of the house.

I'm hoping to plant a bush/shrub called Rose of Sharon. One of the kids I pick up for school has one out by the road and they are so pretty. If I can't find a good established plant at a nursery, I'll see if I can get a start off of one of theirs.

Getting ready to change the front doors this weekend so I'm happy about that. I would like to change our driveway some, but just not sure. I would like it more defined.

I love Rose of Sharon too Janet. They grow down here too, but probably a different variety. I've always wanted one too.

I love crepe myrtles and lilacs!! I have one of each at the corner of the house. I love the smell of lilac!! We also have wild honeysuckle around the house and sometimes you get a whiff of that!! I love the smell of honeysuckle too!!

I read somewhere that the average house size is about 2000 sq ft. I only have 1600 sq ft, and that is perfect for me - but sometimes I'd like to have just a little more space.

I think we have 1800 square feet, but I'm not for sure since we built on and I could still use more room...lolol. Since it's pretty obvious I will have the dogs I need a room just for them. I would also like a nice guest room although we never have guests, but I would like Diana to have nice room when she visits. The room she had for me was wonderful!

I would also like to move the house back a bit further from the road and turn it so the sun isn't shining directly on the front porch of an evening.

One of these days, Janet, you'll have Ricky's room to turn into a guest room. That will give you more room than you realize because you'll also have his closet to store things in.
