Christmas eve

What is everyone doing for Christmas eve?

We are eating tamales at my daughters and playing games and cards. We'll stuff stockings after the kids go to bed.

My family and the family of one of my best friends back home has a tradition to get together every Christmas eve The last few years have been lacking because we haven't all been around. This year my friend is coming out to the cabin to see me tomorrow night, but my parents had the celebration early by visiting her parents last night But I'm excited to see her anyway! When we were younger we'd always think for months of what to do that night... putting on a Christmas skit for our families, buying candy canes and other Christmas candies to hand to everyone, or building gingerbread houses Christmas eve with that family is one of my favorite memories!

My brother and his girlfriend and the little girls will be arriving at the cabin late on Christmas eve this year, after visiting with her grandparents in another city. I'm sure we will just stay up and play cards and other games and drink egg nog until we're too tired to stay awake any longer!

I am planning to go over to Jessie's, but Steve has pancreatitis and does not feel well at all! They went to the ER last night, where they diagnosed him. He really can't eat much for the next few days. His folks and my ex were supposed to come for the weekend, but at this point, they are not coming. The kids are disappointed, but Jessie always makes a beautiful Christmas for them. I have lots of gifts for them, and we will make it fun anyway.

I'm sorry to hear that Steve is not feeling well. Pancreatitis is no fun at all. I know he feels badly!

I cooked dressing, ham, sweet potatoes, corn, rolls, etc. Mike and I didn't have anything to do today, so I cooked. Then my brother and sil walked across the street and ate, too. We'll have Christmas with them on Sunday.

We just got home from an evening at my daughter's, eating tamales, playing cards and watching the movie, Christmas Vacation. All are a Christmas Eve tradition for us!

It will be presents in the morning! YAY!

Mike and I walked across the street, lol! We do a lot of that to visit Jim and Teresa, my brother and sil. Even the dogs run to the door when one of us says "let's walk across the street" I took the game Scategories and we played for awhile. We always have a good time together. I'm so thankful to have them and their kids and grandkids in my life Merry Christmas everybody!

Sorry to hear about Steve, hope his feeling a bit better now.

I was making tamales on Christmas Eve and we open a bottle of white wine ( Dr Loosen).
