Mom Passed Out

Oh Janet, what a scare.. I am glad to hear that she is fine . Did they say that she should see her regular dr. for follow up ? Give her dr. a call tomorrow just to let him know. Your mom God bless her is a tough cookie and I don't think that you will be able to stop her. I understand your concern for her.. But the warm weather is probably best for her, is she down there alone ? Or does she have friends looking in on her?

I will keep her in my prayers.

Oh Janet, I know you are so worried about her. I would be too. I don't have any idea what caused her to pass out. Gary passed out too, a couple of weeks ago, but we think it was that his blood pressure got too low. Sometimes you just don't know. With her dialysis, it could be electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) that were out of whack - but if it were that, then it would have shown up in the blood tests.

I know you don't want her to go to FL - I know you are worried about not seeing her again. It is so hard, we want to protect them, they want to live their life. I have begged Gary to not do something so many times, and he just looks at me like I am crazy. He says if he dies doing XXX, then it will be OK because he was living his life to the fullest. Of course, that doesn't make me feel much better, but I suppose it is true.

Fact is, there isn't much we can do to "protect" our family (other than our children), even though we really want to.

I'm so glad your mom is OK. I hope she doesn't have any more episodes.

Thanks ladies. Gina...she does have friends down there in the little park that she lives in. Also we are going to call her Dr. and set up an appt. for Thursday. That is when her Dr. works. I'm so tired this morning, but I'm sure it's because it was so stressful yesterday.

Oh Janet, I am so sorry about your mom passing out, thankful that the neighbors were there to help her and she didn't get hurt. I tried calling you yesterday but Ricky didn't say there was anything wrong.
I know you will be busy and worried about her but give me a call if you need anything!!!!

I have jury duty this morning (YUK) so there is no way i can get out of that but i will be around tonight.

You be careful on the roads with the snow, it's not much but just be careful and get some rest this afternoon.

Oh, Janet, so glad your story had a good ending!!!! And I know you are concerned about her going to Florida, but the warm weather may be good for her. I can't imagine living where you have icing issues on your car like you describe. Sounds like quite a struggle to even go anywhere. We get upset here when we have frost on the windshield in the morning that has to be cleared. There are very few older ladies here who would even clear windshield frost by themselves, let alone try to de-ice their car. Your mom is one determined, tough lady. You are so blessed to have this time with her!!!

Janet, you poor girl, what a scare you had yesterday!!! My heart just dropped when I saw your title but I'm so glad that things ended up as well as they did. I know that you'll be concerned about her going to Florida but the cold weather won't be affecting her down there so that could be a good thing. You might as well get used to the idea that your Mom isn't going to go sitting in a chair!! I think that my signature is probably how she feels about life and death!!! Give her a hug for me and tell her to take care of herself and to NOT scare you so bad!!!
