I love going to the chiropractor. I hurt my back really badly when I was in 7th grade. I couldn't even get off the couch! My mom carried me to the doctor and all they did was prescribe me some Vioxx. I didn't want to just "mask" the pain so my mom did some research and decided to take me to the chiro. The adjustments completely got rid of my back pain and it hasn't come back since, at that was 9 or 10 years ago!!!!!! My hubby and I are moving around a lot these days, but when we settle down in a town, I will find a chiropractor and continue my adjustments. I am not so much a holistic medicine fanatic, considering my hubby is a medical doctor, but I do believe in a combination of both.

My husband has different problems with his back and at different times has been in very bad shape from it. He credits chiro with keeping him upright and mobile.

Our son had a sinus infection that just wouldn't go away. We finally took him to our chiro and he used a whole box of tissues over the next 24 hrs just keeping up with the drainage when it finally broke loose.

I've got arthritis in my spine and knees, so have gone for treatments for that as well as other things.

A friend had recurring strep that she finally got rid of through chiro treatments.

I would have to agree that it's helpful for a variety of issues!

That is very interesting about your son. I too have serious sinus problems that we cant get rid of. I am wondering how going to a chiropractor fixed his sinuses. I would love that if it worked for me.

I don't know how I missed this thread before. I've been going to chiropractors for many, many years. They have helped me quite a bit, but I'm wondering, since I've had different experiences with different chiropractors, how do you know which ones are good and which ones are not so good? How do you evaluate them. The one I'm going to now seems to be helping quite a bit. My problem is mostly in my neck. Stiffness, pain, headaches, numbness in my hands.

Tumblinstar, if you're still around please let us know.

I'm interested in this as well. I have had major back pain since I had my daughter. They almost forced me to have an epidural (lied saying it would speed up labor (it actually slows it), kept coming in every 5 minutes asking me to have it & I finally said yes just to get them to leave me alone). My back has hurt ever since. I can't even sit or stand straight up without alot of pain. I was told that some chiroprators just "fix" problems to keep you coming back to them. I have always wanted to go but since money is an issue I could not afford it as a weekly reoccurring bill.
