i have seen these same symptoms and at a similar age here in our chiropractic office. i would really suggest going to a family wellness chiropractor and having a consultation. in every case we've had here we've always had awesome results. id be happy to answer any other questions you have about it.

Anyhow i got the results back from his bloodwork, turns out he has a slow working thyroid and his insoline levels are low.
He is not overweight, so i don't understand
I asked the docter over the phone what all of that exactly means, but he was in such a hurry he could not explain in detail... so next thing, i'm definatly changing docters, we have been with this one for over 11 years, and he has not changed, he has no time for his patients, and ive now just had enough of it!
This is my child for goodness sake, and i'm worried!

He said, he has to go back and have more bloodwork done in 6 weeks time to see if there's any changes, then he can move in and put him on meds... now sorry, but i don't understand!

I'm furious!

Unfortunatly we can't just go to a chiropractor here, we have to get a referral from our family docter, and they believe it's only for people with back problems and things like that.

I forgot all about Mono....those are the symptoms. Whatever it is, I hope he's feeling better real soon and has so much energy he'll say..."Mom..let me clean the house today."

I've been dealing with this with my 17 year old since last May. She had mono. After 3 months she kept feeling sluggish still, tired, her spleen has been enlarged and was hurting her. Anyway, she just didn't seem to be getting better and started to lose weight. I took her back and they seemed perplexed. They told me that you can test positive for mono for up to a year, but in reality once you get it that it's just always there. We ended up doing all kinds of blood tests and they told me everything was negative. She bickers with her boyfriend a lot, a lot, which I've talked to her about repeatedly. Part of me thinks she's just major stressed about this relationship stuff and that's why she loses the weight. She goes every couple of weeks to see the doc, but I don't know. She was feeling better for awhile and put back on some weight, but now she's not feeling well again.

We go on Wednesday for another follow up and I'm going to push the issue of getting a second opinion or taking her to Children's Hospital. I know they said all her blood work was negative, but why is she still not feeling well?

Just personal experience when I get stressed out I lose a lot of weight, even though i eat like a pig, I also get really tired & have no energy. My freshman year of college I left a boyfriend at home & he would call all the time & fight with me. I lost almost 20lbs my first semester (at the end of the semester I was 5'7" & weighed 98lbs). I didn't leave my room & I was sleeping almost 12 hours a day. I would say her problem is definitely stress related. I wouldn't leave my boyfriend because I thought I couldn't do any better, I don't know if this is her reason or not. I think a counselor might be helpful for her, since the doctors can't figure it out.

Update

He is still not doing well at all.
Since a few days he is coughing REAL BAD, he's throat is sore and has swollen glands.

He has problems at school with he's mentor. I know he really is doing he's best, and i don't know what more i can ask of him?
He's mentor is real strict, which is good thing, but somehow my son can't seem to please him, or at least, that's the feeling he get's.

At the end of this month it's teacher/parent evening, so i will speak to him.
