You know Paula....a lot of the people on YT say not to give extra calcium but my Vet has me give my mothers 1/4 of a tablet of PetCal as soon as we know they are pregnant. I told him what they said on YT and he said there was no way the HE wouldn't give it. They need it for not only their bones but for the puppy development. I've followed his advice and have never had a problem. You'll think I'm crazy, but I really baby my mom's after whelping. They get scrambled eggs for breakfast with some of the whelping pudding. For lunch they get canned food with some whelping pudding and then for supper they get canned food, whelping pudding and some grated carrots....lol.

Paula she is just so sweet!!!! Are you keeping her...have you named her?
Here is another recipe.... Whelping Pudding 16 oz. water 1 pkg. Knox Gelatin (micro. to disolve) 15 oz. can evap. milk 2 tabls. vanilla yogurt 2 egg yolks 2 tabls. white corn syrup mix all ingred. in bowl let set in fridge until thickens. Spoon out as needed. If you use the one that Lynne posted....be sure the sugar is dissolved completely. I use both recipes...just depends on how much time I have. The one Lynne gave is from Dee (SugarsMom) and this one is from Mardelin on YT.

here's a recipe for you, don't forget to cut it in half
Large pkg. of Vanilla pie and pudding mix (cook kind) 1/2 c. sugar 4 cups milk 4 egg yolks. Cook on low heat stirring constantly until thick. Give it to your mom at body temp. This will not cause diarreha so she can have all she wants. If it is the first time she has had it or seems to not like it, put some in some wet food for her. I usually give mine about two tablespoons a day in between their other meals. I also cut the recipe in half because it makes way too much.
