I am so sorry about your the loss of your grandfather.

I think allergies can take a long time to figure out. I hope it gets solved quickly!

Thanks guys. I actually haven't seen him in years... shortly after I went back to school after living with them, he went into a home. He had been going crazy for months and I had to lock the bedroom door at night because he would frantically try to get in! He just got worse and worse in the home and hasn't recognized my grandma for years. He had a new "wife" there that he would introduce her to when she went to visit lol! But my grandma knew this was coming, he wouldn't even eat lately without her there to feed him. And she will have less to worry about, and her whole income will not be going towards his stay in the home (his family had nothing to do with him in these last years). And now he's in a place with his first wife and I'm sure he's very happy too!

Yesterday, Scott bought a humidifier for $5 from an old couple. I worked until 1:00 am so by the time I got home and to bed it was 2:00. We tried turning on the humidifier to see how it would work. It is LOUD!!! We kept it right outside the bedroom door for the night. I ended up sleeping through it anyway, and my eyes weren't as sore this morning, but they're still very very red. Since yesterday, it the back of my right eye hurts when I look left. But also, I haven't gotten much sleep this week. Next week I can just relax and stay home and hopefully try to figure out if it's the house or office or just strain making my eyes so red.

By the way, I'm going to stick with the humidifier for a few more weeks and see if it helps anything because I think there's something to the dry eyes theory. My skin has needed moisturizer constantly every day, my throat is dry and sore, and last night when I got home, I was just about to start the shower when my nose started pouring blood. Sometimes I get nosebleeds from dryness. I think we should invest in a quiet humidifier for the bedroom and maybe use the loud one on the main floor. Hopefully it will help a little.

I hope the humidifier helps. You have certainly dealt with this long enough! An eye doctor can check the moisture in your eyes. Did they ever do that on you? You'll know if they did because they stick little paper tabs in your eye........it feels really weird!!

Lol nope they've never done that to my eyes!

We used the humidifier again last night and again, our eyes weren't scratchy feeling and sore when we woke up, but still quite red.

Thank you. It didn't bother me much until the funeral when all the memories came back of him before his Alzheimers. He was almost completely opposite from my grandpa who was always fun-loving and joking around and very kid-friendly... but he kept my grandma company and would call her "dear" and was always willing to be involved in whatever our family was doing, whether it was my dad and uncle taking him hunting, golfing, or just playing cards with us. So I did get pretty sad, and I spent some time with my grandma last week, but I think she's doing okay.

I saw the specialist again last Wednesday and he told me my eyes are fine and I can wear contacts again. So I am. They don't hurt any more or any less with contacts in, so I guess it's okay. They are easy to take out at the end of the day so my eyes don't seem to be dried out, but they are still red. They actually cleared up last weekend when I was away from home, almost completely. The veins were still there but very very faint pink. Now that I've been at home all week, and back to work today, they're red again. I'm 90% sure it's an allergy to something.

I hope you find the source of the allergies fast! At least you know what you have now.

How is Layla, by the way? Is she scooting around on her wheels? Please kiss her for me.
