To help a bit more since I've gone thru 5 printers in 7 years - here is the top qualities of the 3 major brands
HP - GREAT FOR PRINTING PHOTOS - not great on ink but ok - Epsun - Great for printing - but not known for photo printing and can be higher costwise Canon - GREAT for saving on color ink cartridges - since they take so many ink cartridges - you only replace the color that goes out - vs - other printers Laser printers - buy these if you do alot of document printing - not known for photo printing to me ....after having 3 Canons and 2 HP printers - I think I like Canon best for quality printing - there is a world of difference in the DPI-s of this printer I just bought 2 months ago |

My Epson is the one that went out. It did a real nice job, but was noisey as heck. I just bought a cheaper Lexmark printer to replace it. It is so quiet and fast and prints text just great. Not too thrilled with the photo printing, but hey, I only spent $29 on it....LOLOL I do have a very nice HP Photo printer and I love the quality photos it prints. To do anything else, I'll need a much better printer. Thanks for the tips Villette.
