Grandparents

I am one of the unfortunate ones who never met her grandparents. They were gone before and very shortly after I was born. Dad is no longer here so I can't ask him about his parents and my mother doesn't know. Both set of grandparents divorced and remarried others.

The first of how I knew what grandparents were like was when I started dating my husband. He still had both sets of his. They were wonderful and just exactly how I thought grandparents were suppose to be. They too are gone now.

My son never got to know my dad, but loves my Mom even though she is not the devoted grandmother and he knew his grandparents from my husbands side. Now this grandfather is gone and his grandmother is in a nursing home dieing of cancer.
