Have my baby home and he is feeling a lot better, thankyou all for your support it is strange how being in contact with you guys sure helps. Tink thanks for looking that up. It has been a worrying week and I am now spoiling him to bits. He will have to take it easy for a while and I hope this never ocurs again. |

Highlans, I'm so glad he's home and feeling better!
It's so scary when our kids are ill.

Wow! I didn't see this thread because I only recently joined, but the exact same thing happened to my little brother about a month ago. He is sixteen and also very tall and thin. Only the top portion of one of his lungs collapsed, but it still gave us all quite a scare. Luckily, he is doing much better now, though he still has to go get check ups regularly to make sure everything is still alright. They say there is a 25% chance that the same thing could happen to him again and if it does he'll have to have surgery. But luckily, for now everything is good.
I'm glad to hear that your son is doing better as well. Keep us posted. |

Angiedoodles sorry to hear your brother had the same hope he stay's well and does not have a relapse.
We were told there is a 30/50% chance of another collapse in his life time but if it happens again we will know what the problem is and will get him straight to hospital. He is gutted at the moment because he cannot fly for three months and he was going to Colarado (sp) America skiing end of this month with my hubby and son in law, they are still going with out him. So you can imagine he is not a happy bunny!! |
