Dignity? Self respect?
Oh Marilyn, I know you're right, and normally I'm willing to just jump into things, but this time I am shy and a bit anxious about even hinting that I might consider myself capable of the job. It involves skill as well as experience, so I guess I'm afraid I'll come across like one of those people on the season opener of American Idol.  I'm so worked up over trying out for this job that I dont even want to say what it is... I'll let you know if I get up the nerve to go for it and get it.
