According to my husband it's a comfort thing. sometimes certain things can cramp there little friend, sitting for example, so they have to put it down one leg or the other. Also my cosmo said they do it to hide erections. I would imagine it'd be similar to having a seam pressing right down on the middle of your boob. If this happened you would 1. remove item of clothing causing this, or 2. move your boob to one side or the other of the seam. Depending on the situation men can't just remove there pants.

Or are they checking to make sure it's still there. I think they may need to check every 30 seconds to make sure it's not gone missing!

Fortunately neither my hubby nor my son are into doing this. I have been around guys who did though, and wanted to just slap their hands!

My nephew, when he was 2, discovered his "new best friend" much to my brother and sister in laws dismay. For months he had his hand grasped firmly around "it" and embarrassed them terribly. He is now 9 and it's been years since I've noticed him doing it. So the good news is, if you start early enough, you CAN break them of that nasty habit. So maybe their parents are to blame? Teeheehee

I don't think it's discusting. I mean, there are if, buts, and ands to that, but to me, it's more of a 'goodness there he goes again' type of a thing. It just seems like something guys do. (disclaimer, I'm not saying my bf does this, one way or the other)
