I hope she is not just putting on a "brave face" to get hit by reality later on. Hope she is dealing with it. I also feel sorry for her.

I don't think she is putting on a brave face. You'd really have to know my niece. Not a very caring or compassionate young lady. To tell you the truth, I don't think she was in love with this guy. He was her first boyfriend, she's 27 years old, very, VERY heavy, not very attractive inside or out. I think she was just afraid she wouldn't be able to get someone else. I know that sounds cold, but my niece isn't a very nice person...never has been even when she was little.

I think she'll be just fine. Who knows maybe it will change her in a good way.

Janet, God bless you for your honesty.
I think many families have someone like that and people just don't want to admit it. Just one of the reasons I admire you. I get the impression you just "tell it like it is".

Dear Janet:

I'm so sorry that your family is having troubles and will be praying for them. Thank God he didn't hurt your niece. Maybe this will help change her perspective on things.

Most of my family didn't really know him. We are thankful that he didn't take her with him and hopefully, doubtful, but hopefully it will change her perspective.

Yes, that's a very valid concern. My brother's scout leader was murdered by her husband before he took his own life. I'm glad that didn't happen to your neice. She's very lucky...

I always worry that people will think I'm cold or something, but I promise everyone...I'll never lie to you. I do 'tell it like it is' most of the time. I do have to stop and think once in awhile to make sure how it comes across.

My other niece (her sister) is 32 and she's never really had a boy friend either. Thing is, she is also very heavy, but really sweet, caring compassionate and she would do anything for people, just a great person to be around.

I wish both were not as heavy as they are...for their health. They are both more than heavy, it's obsesity plain and clear. I know they eat a lot because they are alone, (both want husbands and families of their own) but they are ruining their health. I'm heavy, so it's nothing against heavy people. I just think if they could try to take some of it off, especially since they are still young, it would help them in their quest.
