I would have been like you, I would have found something to maneuver it into a newspaper and gotten rid of it.

Angie, I'm with you. I would have gotten sick, covered it up and waited till someone else could remeove it. I would have just opened a window and then stayed outside. Gross!!!

That is gross, but I am laughing at the sight of your dog and cat trying to grab it away from meanie Mommy. How could you possibly want to throw it away? Have you no sense of smell, taste, have you never now the feeling of victory when you win the lovely morsel? Do you not understand that they both could have carried the odor of it on their coats for days!

LOL Judy, sadly for them, I understood all of that!

The next morning the cat tried to bring it BACK in... luckily my ds was home so I forced him out of bed to take it out and far away this time. I'm sure it was no fresher the second time around.
