Morph and Jumble

Ok, I understand how the smaller words that you have on the list fit go together, but the longer words I don't see how they fit with the rules. Actually it's coming up with a word that reminds us of the word we're seeing. A word that's similar.

Farmer
Charmer
Charms
Harms
Hams

Is this correct?

I clearly made up my own rules, but I had a good time. What else matters? I kind of tried to stick to the rules sometimes.
