yeah she rejected her brother's help before, but i'm trying for something along those lines... unfortunately i picked a different witness, bc we're only allowed to direct question 1 witness bc of time restraints, but i can use the brother on my closing... what you suggested is sorta the angle i was going for in my opening, but i made some mistakes, my teacher was pretty nice with his criticism... he was harsher with everyone else than me... so i guess that's good...

I simply couldn't do it - I just could not defend someone like that. I know they deserve someone to stand up for them, but it just couldn't be me. I'm a nurse, I could take care of her and help her get well, but I could not defend what she has done, in the legal sense.

Sounds like your best defense is too pick apart the case built against your client and look for a technicality to get her off on. LOL Isn't there an I that didn't get dotted or a T that didn't get crossed somewhere?

unfortunately, being that it's the national mock trial case, it's pretty "perfect" in the sense that they want you to work and there arent any technicalities... it's just for us to exercise legal thinking and so on... i know i was frustrated before, but i'm looking at this as a challenge... the prosec. has it easy...i just gotta work harder to convince the "judge"
