I agree with Teri. I work so hard to get along with my MIL, but she is so mean to me. She'll do something heartless, then think she can call to apologize, writing it off to her age or something. She's even gone so far as to re-arrange my kitchen drawers and cabinets, tell me she doesn't like a gift, walk on my still wet mopped floor on purpose, along with dozens of other things. Every visit, I go crazy biting my tongue and staying clear of her. She treats my hubby almost as badly, but he ignores her just like her husband did.

Be kind and you won't regret it! Everything's better with a glass of wine!

I agree with the others. But I am still lost. how could a grandmother 'boycott" her grandchild's first birthday? reguardless, her loss! She will regret it. That's something she can never get back.

I don't get along the best with my MIL either, but for my husband's sake I try to make the best of it. He's really great with my Mom so I try to get along with his Mom.

I think Teri's advice is good. My MIL has never been crazy about me but she is civil. Probably because my husband is my staunch defender and she knows it.

i like Janets idea the best he he, but thanks ladies, i just went into my office and tried to download pictures while she was there, i am so lost on how to do that..
But she only stayed for an hour Thank God, and took a bunch of pictures of Micah like she always does, she sends them to her relitives and says what a wonderful Grandmother she is.. ya right she hasn't see the kid since March.. oh well i got thru it .... thanks ladies !!
