I went to town this morning and it's at $3.95 here. So far it's not over $4. I heard on the news by some kind of professional that it could be up to $5 by July 1. That is way too much. It also showed on the news the truckers in Europe protesting also. They are paying over $8 and $9 dollars a gallon in some areas. I just couldn't believe it.

Here I remember riding my bike to the gas station around the corner when I was little to get gas in a one-gallon can (to mow the yard) and it was 25 cents. When it went to 26 cents, my dad through a fit...LOL. Oh if he could see it now.

Remember "cruising" through town on Fridaynight? Putting $2 in the car would last all night!

I swear I feel less traffic on the roads. I had a pre-op doctor visit this morning and actually set my cruise control for about 8 miles coming across on the Beltway at lunchtime, where it is always bumper-to-bumper with stop&go traffic. Some of it is that school's out, but I've never been able to run the cruise there before. It was pretty spooky.

You probably felt like you where alone in the world didn't you???....lol. That guy that was talking about the gas prices on the news said the only way to get the prices to drop would be for the usage to go down 25%. Right now we're only using 1-2% less.

Gas spiked another 5 cents per litre here on Monday (as I was in a city 2 hours away and needed to fill up to get home!) so now it's about $1.40/L all around the province. That equals about $5.30/gal. Just to travel to get to my 2 day course and back for work it cost me $90 in gas, and my car is really good on gas!

I need to post some pics of truck dealerships around here. Texans love their big trucks, or did. Dealers are declining to take the big SUV's in trade saying they will never be able to sell them. Truck dealerships have the big trucks out front with big plastic numbers down the side stating $12,000 off.

I talked with a customer today who has parked his big diesel truck and just bought a small fuel efficient Nissan. His car payment and gas bill combined will be less for the small car than his fuel bill alone for his paid for truck. So sad. He's keeping the truck to pull trailers when he needs to and will use the car for his daily driving.

Hubby drives a Lincoln Navigator, and his gas bill is over $600 per month. We're reviewing options.
