It's really a hardship for people who have long commutes right now. I feel bad for them, and am relieved I'm not one of them. I'm also VERY glad Greg's a company driver rather than an owner operator so we don't have to pay for his diesel fuel. He drove 3400 miles last week, gets a bonus for getting over 7 miles per gallon... so at $4.24 per gallon he used $2,059.43 worth of fuel just last week at that 7mpg rate.
And people wonder why the price of everything in the stores is going up? I'm already wondering what's going to happen next winter when we have to heat our homes! On the news tonight they said fuel oil in my area is $4.43 per gallon right now. Thank God natural gas is about half that... but it's still going to really hurt everyone.
