I kept my Dad's watch. It's not a very expensive one but it's something that he wore a lot. I put it on and wear it when I'm thinking of him. I wore it on Father's Day.

My dad died when I was 26. I've only been to his grave two or three times. I agree, he's not there. I hate cemeteries. When my son was born my mom gave me my dad's electric train set for him. I never took it out of the box until last year. And when I took it out, he had written on some of the boxes. When I looked at his hand writing it just brought so many memories flooding back.

My Dad's been gone 16 yrs and it's just the past 2 that I've gone to the cemetary.
I can feel him with me at different times, but not there. I just go there to make sure his and my grandparents graves are well kept since I'm the only one in the family still living in this area.

Kat, rather than sad. I think it's wonderful that they're encouraged to remember grandpa. My 2 youngest were 3 and 5 when my dad passed, so they've forgotten a lot. Dh loved my dad nearly as much as I did, so we make sure to share stories and memories about him when we get the chance. I think it's a good thing to do.

I always tel the kids I know Dad's just waiting for the rest of us to join him and he'll probably be strumming a guitar and serenading us when we get there.

My husband went to visit his Dad at the cemetery for Father's day, very sad, he died when Mike was so young and with the loss of his brother last year (38 years old) it was a bad day for him, But he made the best of it for Micah!

My father and I had a terrible relationship (I didn't see him for over 15 years) - the only reason he wanted to see me before he died was his new wife wanted me to pay for the funeral.

Oh Dobie, I'm so sorry. I have always felt very blessed by the parents I got. My dad was a wonderful loving man who put family as top priority. My mom too is a very caring, giving person. I can't imagine not having had either of them.
