Go for it!!! Like you said you can apply and see where it takes you...As for the snow, my bff moved to the Buffalo area 4 years ago for her husband's job. She did not want to go specifically because of the snow. Well, she LOVES it there! They are so used to the snow that it doesn't cripple the city like it does everywhere else. They keep the streets clear and life just goes on. They don't even close the schools! She loves the people and says it's just a great place to live!

It sounds perfect. You really have to decide what climate you want .
It does snow a lot in Buffalo and the winters are cold (20 degrees F) Summer is in the 60's and high 70's in July. So, do you want a warm climate, a cold climate, or a medium climate?

You can always apply, check the area out if they call back, check what they're paying and decide from there what you want to do. After looking at the area and other things you may decide to go for it or not. At least give yourself the option of deciding then, not before you really know what you're in for.

Thanks for all your opinions! Judy, that sounds like a perfect winter to me! Here our winters are about -30 degrees celsius, but for at least a couple of weeks a year, windchills get down to -58 degrees celsius... and just for reference, -40 degrees is the same in celsuis and farenheit. When it gets to 20 degrees farenheit in the spring (about -6 or -7 celsius) I can go outside without a jacket lol.
To be honest, I have been thinking a lot lately about how I would deal with summer all year long, and it's great because I absolutely love summer but I think I would get a little homesick in the fall and winter. I am finished my first aid/cpr training tomorrow so I think I'll make my resume and send it in the next couple of days, so I can add that to my list of certificates ![]()
